Buff Orpington
Without a doubt my Buff Orpingtons are my main breeding project. I am always looking to add better bloodlines to my flock so I can breed to Standard of Perfection. Right now I would say that i have better than average Orps. Orpingtons are an English Breed. They originated in Orpington, County of Kent England by William Cook. The first variety of Orpingtons was the Black. There are two types of standard for Orps, The English and The American. The English standard are more "boxy" and have the cochin look to them. The American type are longer and have more leg in their disposition. Before i got into Buff Orpingtons I had to do research, I wanted a dual purpose bird that was low maintenance, friendly, could rear their young and most of all i want a large breed. As soon as I obtained my first chicks from a breeder in Slatington, Pa. I was then hooked! These birds are an overall around dual purpose bird.
